Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa SMP dan SMA
dalam Kaitannya dengan Pembelajaran Fisika

ABSTRACT: A descriptive study was carried out to investigate student’s ability on problem solving in secondary school in relation to physics instruction. This research which was carried out in Samarinda, East Borneo uses two instruments to reveal data about research variables, Test of Problem Solving Ability on Physics (Tes Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Fisika, TKPMF) and an observation sheet. Through observation, it was found that physics instruction in secondary school does not match toward the curriculum demands. Using TKPMF, it was found that students’ ability to solve physics problems is still poor. Based on statistical analysis, it was found that there is a significant correlation between physics instruction and students ability to solve physics problems.
